Abstract

Organise Crime is a phenomena that costs the UK an estimated £40 Billion per year. With the advent of globalisation Organise Crime has raised up the public policy agenda but it remains one where comparatively little research has been undertaken. This research takes a cohort of 9276 members of 1565 Organised Crime Groups comprising the population of live Organised Crime Groups known to SOCA. Adopting an organisational theory perspective and using Social Network Analysis tools, this research attempts to describe the patterns and

distributions of UK Organised Crime Groups. It discusses the policy implications for these patterns and points toward areas for future study.
