Opening of a permanent position at the Institute of Discrete Mathematics and Geometry, Faculty of Mathematics and Geoinformation, TU Wien

Full Professorship in “Geometric Analysis”

(according to § 98 University Act 2002)

The estimated starting date is April 1, 2018

The applicant is expected to have outstanding academic credentials and an excellent track record of scientific accomplishments in the field of Geometry with a focus on analytic methods such as Integral Geometry, Convex Geometry, Geometric Functional Analysis and their applications in Technical and Natural Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to the institute’s research output, to provide leadership for researchers and postgraduate students and to undertake an appropriate teaching and administrative load. Special consideration will be given to applicants with demonstrated ability to attract external project funding.

Knowledge of German is not a precondition; however we expect a successful candidate to acquire a working knowledge of German.

The applicant must meet the following requirements: academic degree in the respective field of the position, outstanding academic track record in research and teaching, administrative and organisational skills pedagogic and didactic skills, gender sensitivity, social skills and willingness to promote young scientists as well as leadership potential.

University professors belong to grade A1 of the Austrian Collective Agreement for University Staff and receive a minimum salary of EUR 68475,40 per year. A higher salary agreement commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience can be negotiated.
