Vorbemerkung

Ea iat das Anliegen dieser an der Sektion Aaienwisaenschaften der Humboldt-Universität erarbeiteten Bibliographie, einen Überblick zu vermitteln über Materialien der Vereinigten Staa- ten zu ihrer Asienstrategie im Zeitraum von 1945 - 1980. Bei der Erfassung der Titel ging es weniger um die Darstellung der bilateralen Beziehungen der Vereinigten Staaten zu Ländern Asiens, sondern vielmehr darum, die Herausbildung der amerika- nischen Asienstrategie als Teil der sich nach 1945 entwickeln- den konterrevolutionären und antisozialistischen Klassenstra- tegie des Imperialismus zu verdeutlichen.

In Anbetracht der Vielfalt und des Umfanges der für diesen Zeitraum vorliegenden Materialien der Vereinigten Staaten kann nicht der Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit erhoben werden. Die Auswahl konzentrierte sich vorrangig auf Materialien zu mili- tärstrategischen Aspekten.

Die vorliegenden Dokumente wurden in der Reihenfolge ihres Er- scheinungsjahres aufgeführt, wobei innerhalb des jeweiligen Jahres auf eine chronologische Abfolge verzichtet wurde. Die außerdem vorgenommene Gruppierung in größere Zeitabschnitte erfolgte, um annähernd jene Perioden zu umreißen in denen von einer Wandlung der amerikanischen Strategie gesprochen werden kann, so daß dem Leser damit auch die Veränderungen in der Strategie des USA-Imperialismus gegenüber den Ländern Asiens verdeutlicht werden.
