An iridium(III) complex, [(dpci–H)2Ir(dafo)](PF6) (dpci–H = deprotonated 3,4-diphenylcinnoline, dpci; dafo = 4,5-diazafluoren-9-one), was synthesized fromthe reaction of the iridiumcomplex [Ir(dpci–H)2(Cl)]2and dafo in methanol, and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction along with FT-IR, UV/Vis,1H NMR and mass spectroscopy. The luminescence properties and the decay of the cyclometalated iridium(III) complex were also investigated. Excitation at the absorption wave- length (469 nm) resulted in a strong emission band centered at 591 nm with a lifetime of 0.9µs.

Key words:Iridium(III) Complex, 3-Phenylcinnoline, Crystal Structure, Photoluminescence

The results indicate that the complex shows in- tense fluorescence at around 498 nm, that it is a para- magnetic system and shows a weak antiferromagnetic coupling at low

Recently, we extended our investigations of Zintl ions of group 14 and 15 elements and related in- termetalloid clusters [27 – 30] to their reactions un- der solvothermal conditions

In other words, the parallel orientated phen and p-formylbenzoato ligands are stacked alternat- ingly with the close interplanar distance of 3.40(1) ˚ A, suggesting considerable

The crystal structure refinement was performed by the Rietveld method using X-ray and neutron powder diffraction data.. The niobium atoms form a close packing with a layer sequence

The complex has been characterized by single- crystal and powder X-ray diffraction, IRspectroscopy, TG analysis, elemental analyses, and mag- netic measurements. The
