DATAPOINT 6000 SERIES ATTACHED PROCESSORS

The Datapoint 6000 Series Attached Processors are user-oriented, business data processors for use with Datapoint's Attached Resource

Computer™ systems. Designed for compatibility with existing Datapoint software and peripherals, the 6000 Series processors offer an economical way to increase the processing power of any Datapoint Attached Resource Computer system.

The 6000 Series Attached Processors are based on the powerful Datapoint 6600 Advanced

Business Processor and feature virtually the same internal architecture and advanced instruction set.

Available in two versions, the 6010 with 60K user memory and the 6020 with 120K user memory, the 6000 Series processors incorporate a

typewriter-style keyboard, 11-key numeric pad, video display screen, and Resource Interface Module. A 4K Read Only Memory allows system initialization from an ARCTM system file processor.

Used as a host computer for the multitask, multiuser DATASHARE Business Timesharing System in conjunction with ARC system operations, the 6020 Attached Processor can support up to 24 Datapoint 3600 video display user workstations (up to 16 can be supported by the 6010). Each of the 3600 user workstations can concurrently access the ARC system common data base, enter data, and direct the execution of the same or different programs. The 6000 Series processors also support batch or real-time

communications to other computers or ARC systems.

Since standard Datapoint peripherals are compatible with the 6000 Series processors, the processing power of any ARC system can be increased without jeopardizing prior investments.

Datapoint printers, disks, tapes, and synchronous and asynchronous communications equipment may be configured with the 6000 Series processors with no modification or system redesign necessary.

The 6000 Series Attached Processors and their peripherals are compatible with Datapoint's extensive software library, including the powerful Disk Operating System and its utilities, a wide variety of communications and emulator

packages, general business languages such as COBOL, BASIC, RPG, and Assembler, and Datapoint languages such as DATABUS®, DATASHARE®, DATAFORM®, and SCRIBE®.
