“KREUZKIRCHE DESSAU-SÜD”

THEME PROPOSAL MASTERTHESIS

In the middle of the housing scheme Dessau-Toerten, which is built of Bauhaus architects in the 1920s, a church was designed by Bruno Brueders.

The inauguration was celebrated on 28th May 1933. In the years 1954/55 the cultivation of an altar room took place.

The sinking number of community members demands new concepts for a church building with traditional forms, which follows Bauhaus in its interior design. According to a monument analysis, this sacred building is to become a multifunctional and conceptual place
