Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with dramatic works of the Austrian writer Erika Mitterer. The first part introduces her life and work. The second part presents six Mitterer’s dramas which form the basis for the third part of the study aimed at an analysis of female characters in the author’s plays. This section focuses on those mothers and women whose actions significantly influence the plots of the selected plays.
