Liebe Schüler und Schülerinnen der Klasse 8b,

im Anschluss findet ihr Aufgaben, die ihr während der unterrichtsfreien Zeit erfüllt. Sie sollen diese Zeit überbrücken helfen, es sind ja schließlich keine Ferien ;-).

Sobald diese Zeit vorbei ist – eventuell nach den Osterferien - werden die Aufgaben kontrolliert und wir arbeiten dann gemeinsam weiter.

1st week

16.–20.03.2020

Let´s get started!

Open your textbook p 56 and read „All about … American schools“ and at p 57 read the article „Extracurriculars“ . Make notes about the differences in the USA and Germany.

Think about:

• the school system

• the school year

• the school day

• the schedule

• the dress code

• how students get to school

• extracurriculars

• …

Prepare a 3-minute talk about „Education in the US and Germany“.

2nd week

23.-27.03.2020

Now you need your textbook again. Open it at p 58.

1. Copy the food pyramid and put it into your English folder.

Complete the sentences below the pyramid.

2. Write down everything you ate and drank and snacked yesterday. Make 3 lists:

breakfast – lunch/dinner – snack

Give a short report of 8 to 10 sentences on your eating habits.

3. What else belongs to a healthy life? Brainstorm and

make a mind map.

Have a closer look at the „Looking at language“-box and read the grammar file at p 166.

1. Make sure you understand everything, write the rules into you folder – grammar part – and solve the task below („Can you…?“)

2. Now have a look at the task at textbook p 66 number 10 and write the sentences into your folder.

3. And last but not least fill in: the or (=leave it out) in the following sentences.

a) Timo thought that _____ school in Hermann would be the same than school in Bad Arolsen, but some things are different. ______ school that he goes to is a high school.

b) ____ subjects Timo has in Hermann are not he same as ____ subjects he had in his German school.

1. What do the different family members think about their new home? – Make notes.

2. Get informed about the Past Perfect at p 167 and write the rules into your English folder.

3. Solve the „Can you…?“ tasks as well.

4. Now practise:

Open the textbook p 12 and 13 and write the solution into your folder.

I hope you will have fun reading the story of Angus Bethune at textbook p 68-70

After finishing reading solve the text tasks number 1 to 4.
