Nineteenth-Century Art Worldwide, scholarly, refereed open-access journal founded in 2002 and devoted to the study of art and visual culture of the long nineteenth-century across the globe, is accepting applications for a managing co-editor.
We seek candidates with a broad and inclusive view of nineteenth-century art and visual culture;
with a publishing record; and with experience reading and critiquing the writings of others. They should be intellectually rigorous, detail-oriented, and willing to collaborate with authors and other members of the editorial team.
The managing co-editor will be part of a team of two that will:
- Solicit and review submissions for articles and New Discoveries contributions - Find peer reviewers and coordinate the peer review process
- Accept or reject submissions
- Coordinate the rewriting process, if necessary
- Review final submission and forward to Executive Editor
All positions on NCAW’s editorial board are voluntary. Applicants don’t have to be members of NCAW’s parent organization AHNCA (Association of Historians of Nineteenth-Century Art) at the time of the application but are expected to become members if they are selected for the position.
Please send a letter of interest and a CV to the journal’s executive editor Isabel Taube at itaube[at]19thc-artworldwide.org before November 16.
