Panel Proposal: Other Narratives of Modernist Art

6th Annual Conference of the Modernist Studies Association Simon Fraser University and University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B.C., Canada, October 21-24, 2004

This panel invites papers that focus on alternative narratives of modernist art and its history. Particular emphasis is on narratives that foster holistic concepts and organic approaches to modernist art and art theory such as, for example, the writings of Raoul Francé, Ernst Fuhrmann, Carola Giedion-Welcker, Geoffrey Grigson, Anatole Jakovski, Ernö Kallai, Herbert Read, and others.
